A weeklong horse-packing expedition is the goal. Today, I took the first small step toward it—with a 25-year-old mare named Meg, a muddy trail, and the reassuring discovery that getting into the saddle was easier than I thought.

After three summers sitting quietly in the barn, my kayaks finally returned to the water.

The annual Ride for Roswell has a personal meaning for my family and many in our community. I rode the 30 mile route with my bank’s team and raised money for an excellent organization.
