Holidays at Home - Dec 2023

December 2023 was a special holiday for our family — our first Christmas with Shayna, Trace’s fiancée. The year before, they had spent the holiday with her family after getting engaged, so this felt like the first Christmas where our families truly began blending and creating new traditions together.

Trace and Shayna stayed with us for about a week, and the whole holiday had a quiet, cozy feel. We cooked meals together, had long, lazy mornings, watched holiday movies, played games, and exchanged gifts. It wasn’t a big or noisy Christmas — it was soft, warm, and intimate in the best way.

There was something really meaningful about having them both here, settling into our home, sharing simple moments, and beginning to imagine the holidays we might spend together in the years ahead.
