Diane’s 60th Rodeo - Jul 2023
🤠 Diane’s 60th Rodeo was one of those family celebrations that had everything — heartfelt moments, laughter, a little chaos, and a lot of love. Her daughter Jen hosted the party at her home in downtown Saratoga Springs, turning the backyard into a cowboy-themed celebration that perfectly matched Diane’s warm, spirited personality.
Before I left for in Saratoga, I treated myself to something I desperately needed: a full makeup makeover at Scott Miller in Pittsford. After years of feeling like I’d neglected myself — as most of us did post-COVID — this glam-up felt like a reset button. The stylist didn’t just apply makeup; she walked me through what products to keep, what to toss, and how to apply everything so I could recreate the look myself. I left feeling refreshed, polished, and more like myself than I had in a long time. It was the perfect pre-party ritual.
A much needed Makeover at Scott Miller
We checked into the Embassy Suites downtown, since so many family members were staying at Jen’s and Diane’s. Saratoga was buzzing, vibrant, and full of summer energy.
The next day, the party began in a total downpour. But instead of ruining anything, the rain made everything more intimate and fun. Guests arrived under umbrellas, with Andy escorting people from cars to the tent like a true gentleman. We all crowded together under the canopy, laughing, mingling, and embracing the adventure of it. Eventually the sky cleared, and we spilled out into the yard to enjoy the sunshine, the decorations, and even the backyard cocktail caboose.

But nothing — absolutely nothing — topped the moment Jen shared her secret: she was pregnant. Diane’s first grandchild. Watching her face shift from surprise to joy to tears was one of those family moments that becomes part of the collective story forever. The entire backyard erupted — cheers, hugs, happy crying, laughter layered over laughter. It turned the birthday party into a milestone for the whole family.

The celebration continued all weekend. The next morning, we had brunch back at Jen’s, and the entire day was spent lounging by the pool, relaxing together, and soaking in the glow of the news.
Diane’s 60th Rodeo wasn’t just a party — it was a circle of love tightening around her, a celebration of her life, her family, and the new generation on its way.
