Cirque du Soleil – Luzia - Mar 2026
Tonight we went to see Cirque du Soleil – Luzia.
Luzia is one of Cirque du Soleil’s traveling big-top productions. The show is inspired by the landscapes and culture of Mexico and mixes acrobatics, dance, music, and theatrical staging. Water is used throughout the performance, sometimes even falling as rain on the stage.

The tent was surprisingly small, which made the experience feel intimate. There really wasn’t a bad seat in the house. You could see every movement and every expression.
My favorite part of the show was the acrobat troupe. They moved through the air with incredible speed and precision. It looked effortless even though it clearly wasn’t.
The costumes and stage sets were spectacular. Giant butterfly wings, mechanical sculptures, bright colors, and shifting lights created a dreamlike world inside the tent.
My least favorite act was the contortionist. He frightened me. His body bent in ways that didn’t look natural. I kept thinking he must be injuring himself and had trouble watching the whole act.
The rest of the audience seemed completely fascinated.
