A Halloween Night on the Hill — Costumes, Hayrides, and a Porch Party - Oct 2023
🎃 October 2023 brought one of the most fun and festive nights of the season: our Halloween celebration with Trace and Shayna, Shayna’s mom and her friend Jody, and several of my closest pals. It felt like a night of pure fall magic — cozy, spooky, and wonderfully social.
I decorated the back porch from top to bottom, turning the space into a warm, candle-lit Halloween hideaway filled with pumpkins, lanterns, fall florals, and glowing lights. Everyone arrived in costume, which instantly lifted the energy and set the mood for a playful, spirited night.
We started the evening at Lincoln Hill Farms, one of my favorite fall spots. The whole place was alive with autumn charm — rustic barns, fire pits, music, and crowds in festive costumes. We boarded the haunted hayride, which took us rumbling through fields lit with eerie scenes, jump scares, and haunted vignettes. We screamed, laughed, grabbed onto each other, and rolled back into the farm feeling exhilarated.
Afterward, we returned home for the second half of the celebration: dinner, drinks, and dancing on the decorated porch. The night flowed easily — conversations overlapping, music filling the space, everyone relaxed and having fun. There was something especially sweet about having Trace and Shayna there with Shayna’s mom and her friend — families and friends mixing effortlessly, sharing a holiday that feels playful for all ages.
It was one of those evenings that reminded me why I love fall so much: warm lights against cool air, people gathering together, laughter spilling into the night. A perfect October adventure — and a cherished part of my 1000 Adventures.
